Ding Lei is executive director, chief executive officer and chairman of the board of NetEase Cloud Music, listed on the Main Board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange under stock code 9899. The company's 2025 annual report records that he was 54 years old at the time. It also notes that he founded NetEase, has served as a director since the company was established in July 1999, and has been its chief executive officer since November 2005. Between 1999 and 2005 he held a series of roles at NetEase, including chief architect, acting chief executive officer, acting chief operating officer and co-chief technology executive officer, and he has been a director of NetEase Youdao (NYSE: DAO) since January 2015. He holds a bachelor of science in communications technology from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China. The report's description of the group's structure shows that he is also a registered shareholder of the domestic holding company. Hangzhou Ledu Technology is owned as to 99 per cent by him and 1 per cent by Li Wei, and operates online programme, online performance and live-streaming businesses; the group controls that entity and draws its economic benefits through a series of contractual arrangements. NetEase, the company's controlling shareholder, is likewise identified with him. The corporate information section records a board of three executive directors, one non-executive director and three independent non-executive directors, the executive directors being Ding, Li Yong and Wang Yanfeng. Lu Yingjie chairs the audit committee, Xu Zhong chairs the remuneration committee and Gu Xianfeng chairs the nomination committee. The company is incorporated in the Cayman Islands, is headquartered in the Qianjiang Century City area of Hangzhou's Xiaoshan District, and keeps its principal Hong Kong office in Lee Garden One, Causeway Bay.
