Guoxin Fang is an assistant professor in the Department of Mechanical and Automation Engineering at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He took a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering at the Beijing Institute of Technology in 2016 and a PhD in design engineering at Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands in 2022. Before joining CUHK he was a postdoctoral research associate in digital manufacturing at the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom. His training runs from mechanical engineering into design engineering — one concerned with how things are made, the other with how they are designed — and digital manufacturing connects the two through computer models of design and production. The departmental page does not list his specific research topics or publications, so this entry follows only the degrees, posts and research field recorded there; anything not listed is left blank.
Fang works in digital manufacturing, where computer models run through both design and production; his path from mechanical to design engineering and then to a Manchester postdoc centres on digitising manufacturing processes.
