Calvin Ho Chuen Kam is a lecturer in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, where he concentrates on teaching. He completed his PhD at CUHK on computer vision and human understanding — judging a person's pose, actions and behaviour from images, techniques used in action recognition, human-computer interaction and video analysis. He took his bachelor's degree with first-class honours at Hong Kong Baptist University before moving to CUHK for doctoral work, a path from basic science towards computational methods. His teaching and research connect computer vision with machine learning. The departmental page lists only degrees, posts and research direction rather than a full biography, so this entry follows that record and leaves unlisted years, awards or publications blank. Information checked on 29 October 2026.
Kam works on human understanding within computer vision, with applications in action recognition and human-computer interaction; he now concentrates on teaching, bringing research experience into the classroom.
