LAU Luen Hung Thomas

Thomas Lau Luen Hung is executive director, chairman and chief executive officer of Lifestyle China Group Limited. The company's 2025 annual report records that he was 70, joined the company in January 2016, and serves as chairman and CEO as well as a director of certain subsidiaries and of all the group's associated companies — a remit that runs across the whole structure. His business record is anchored in Lifestyle International. The report notes that he is chairman and a non-executive director of Lifestyle International Holdings Limited, whose shares were withdrawn from the Main Board of the Stock Exchange in December 2022 under a privatisation scheme. In other words his career spans the shift of a Hong Kong department-store operator from listed public company to private ownership, while he continues to chair the board of Lifestyle China within the same group. On public service the filing lists him as a member of the Shanghai Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and a member of the board of Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Both point to Shanghai, the geographic centre of gravity of the Lifestyle department-store network in the mainland. Lifestyle China's board also carries a clear family succession story. The report records that Lau Kam Sen and Lau Kam Sim both became executive directors on 20 March 2023, and since August of that year have sat on the boards of certain subsidiaries and associated companies. Lau Kam Sen holds a bachelor's degree from Columbia University in New York and a master's from New York University, and worked in investment banking at an international financial institution in Hong Kong before joining the family business. Lau Kam Sim chairs the International Association of Department Stores and sits on the executive committee of the Hong Kong Retail Management Association and the retail and tourism committee of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce. The annual report identifies them as Lau Luen Hung's son and daughter. As the filing presents it, his role at Lifestyle China is to carry forward a family enterprise built on department-store retail: the founding generation built the structure, the next generation has entered the board to take on operating responsibility, and he remains at the chair and CEO level coordinating relations between the company and its associates.
