Shaohua Li is an assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He completed a Doctor of Science degree at ETH Zurich, having earlier taken bachelor's and master's degrees at the University of Science and Technology of China. His research covers programming languages, software engineering, security and systems, with particular attention to the reliability, performance and security of emerging software systems, both conventional and AI-based stacks. The work has been recognised by both academia and industry: he received a Distinguished Paper Award at OOPSLA 2023, Distinguished Artifact Awards at PLDI 2024 and ASPLOS 2024, and a Meta Security Research Award in 2022.
Li works on the three goals of software being reliable, fast and secure, and publishes reusable tools and experiments through artifact awards so that other researchers can check and build on the results directly.
