Guoliang Xing is a professor and department chairman in the Department of Information Engineering at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He took bachelor's and master's degrees at Xi'an Jiaotong University in 1998 and 2001 and a Doctor of Science degree at Washington University in St. Louis in 2006. Before joining CUHK he held faculty posts at the City University of Hong Kong and at Michigan State University in the United States, building teaching and research experience on both sides. He now heads the Department of Information Engineering, responsible for its curriculum, research and staffing. The departmental page lists degrees, posts and previous institutions rather than a full biography, so unlisted research topics, papers or awards are left blank. Information checked on 29 October 2026.
Xing's path runs from Xi'an Jiaotong to Washington University in St. Louis, then faculty posts at CityU and Michigan State, and finally the headship of CUHK's information engineering department — a department leader with international teaching and research experience.
