Danny Kit Sang Yip is a lecturer in the Department of Information Engineering at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He took his bachelor's, Master of Philosophy and doctoral degrees at CUHK, all in computer science and engineering; after graduating he joined the information engineering department as a lecturer, where he concentrates on teaching. His research interest is bioinformatics — using computational techniques to support biomedical analysis, such as handling gene sequences and biological data. The field joins computer science with biomedicine, making it an interdisciplinary application.
Yip moved from computer-science training at CUHK into teaching in information engineering, with research in bioinformatics applying algorithms to biomedical data analysis.
