發展局同中國科學院古脊椎動物與古人類研究所 2024 年 10 月公布，喺香港聯合國教科文組織世界地質公園範圍內嘅赤洲發現恐龍骨骼化石，專家初步確認屬大型恐龍嘅骨骼化石，年代為白堊紀（約 1.45 億至 6,600 萬年前）；品種仍待進一步研究確定。官方只公布年代區間，本站唔會自行收窄——時間軸排序用區間最早界線（1.45 億年前），唔代表化石實際定年。呢條係官方公布嘅里程碑，唔屬《香港志》志錄抽取層。

In October 2024 the Development Bureau and the Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleoanthropology (Chinese Academy of Sciences) announced dinosaur bone fossils found on Port Island, inside the Hong Kong UNESCO Global Geopark, preliminarily identified as belonging to a large aged dinosaur and dated to the Cretaceous (about 145–66 million years ago); the species is still being studied. The official statement gives a range only, so this site never narrows it — the timeline sort key is the earliest bound of that range (145 million years ago) and is not a dating of the fossil itself. This is an official milestone, not an extracted Chronicles archive entry.
