Tai Po Industrial Estate is Hong Kong's first industrial estate. Its construction was approved in 1974 and it is managed by the Hong Kong Industrial Estates Corporation (later renamed Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation). Industrial estates provide long-term land for manufacturing and related industries.
