商務及經濟發展局局長2016年1月30日出席香港漫畫星光大道二期開幕典禮致辭，把「灣仔太原街的『玩具街』」同茂蘿街「動漫基地」、星光大道並列為維港兩岸動漫地標；同年2月17日局長喺立法會《施政報告》致謝議案辯論致辭寫得更明確——「灣仔區內的『玩具街』（即太原街）」。官方文件只把「玩具街」等同太原街，冇交代街名由來或者店舖數目，所以呢頁唔會補呢啲。
Speaking at the opening of Avenue of Comic Stars Phase 2 on 30 January 2016, the Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development grouped “the ‘Toy Street’ in Tai Yuen Street, Wan Chai” with the “Comics Base” in Mallory Street among the harbourfront comics landmarks; his speech on the Policy Address motion of thanks on 17 February 2016 is explicit — “the ‘Toy Street’ (that is, Tai Yuen Street)”. Official documents only equate Toy Street with Tai Yuen Street, giving neither the origin of the name nor a shop count, so neither is supplied here.
