中央書院係香港最早嘅官立中學，1862 年由香港政府創辦，最初位於歌賦街。書院以中英文雙語教學，為香港培養咗大批雙語人才。孫中山曾經喺呢度就讀。1951 年改名為皇仁書院（Queen's College），但係新嘅皇仁書院已經搬去銅鑼灣。中央書院嘅建築後來成為咗皇仁書院舊址，係香港教育史嘅重要見證。

Central School was Hong Kong's first government secondary school, founded in 1862. Located on Gough Street, it provided bilingual education and trained generations of bilingual talents. Dr Sun Yat-sen studied here. In 1951 it was renamed Queen's College, though the new campus moved to Causeway Bay. The original building remains an important witness to Hong Kong's educational history.
