1866-02-01 · 西環

1866年2月1日，西環街坊會議表決通過，向港府申請設立「團防局」，以組織更練，協助警方維持華人社區治安；同年8月16日，立法局通過建議並付諸實行。

On 1 February 1866 a meeting of Sai Wan residents voted to petition the Hong Kong Government to establish a "District Watch Committee" to organise a watchmen corps and assist the police in maintaining order in the Chinese community; on 16 August of the same year the Legislative Council approved the proposal and put it into effect.
