《香港志》記港府於該日頒布條例，規定在本港出售或使用嘅玩具須符合國際標準，並指呢條係本港首條專門管制玩具安全嘅法例（即香港法例第424章《玩具及兒童產品安全條例》）。
The Hong Kong Chronicles record the ordinance made that day, requiring toys sold or used in Hong Kong to meet international standards, and describe it as Hong Kong’s first law aimed specifically at toy safety (now Chapter 424, Toy and Children’s Products Safety Ordinance).
