清嘉慶二十四年（1819）《新安縣志》卷之十三 防省志「遷復」門記康熙年間新安縣遷界同事後復界（掃描本第 182 頁下葉係遷界部分，子目「沿海看界」、「再遷」）。「沿海看界」記：「康熙元年二月，大憲巡邊立界，邑地遷之三之二；三月，差總鎮曹、總統馬督同營兵折界，驅民遷入五十里內地」；又記民初不知遷界之事，雖先示諭而民不知徙，及兵至，多棄其貲、攜妻挈子以行，野棲露處，有死喪者，有遁入東莞、歸善及流遠方不計道里者。「再遷」之下記將盡遷焉，總督盧以邑地初遷入民困苦，會疏乞免盡遷，止遷東西二路共二十四鄉；三年三月，城守蔣宏閏、知縣張璞逐東西二路二十四鄉人界，以後每年大憲四季巡界。篇末記初遷民多望歸，尚不忍離妻子，及流離日久、養生無計，遂有夫棄其妻、父別其子、兄別其弟而不顧者，輾轉流亡不可彈述，上臺同縣長官俱目謀安插，但遷民多而界內地少，卒莫能救。呢條係由公共領域掃描本人手核讀出嚟嘅內容事實（名字、數字一律照掃描本抄錄），同志錄並排對照：《香港志》志錄記 1662 年 4 至 5 月清政府推行沿海遷界、範圍達 30 至 50 里，由總鎮曹志率軍強制沿海居民遷入內陸，香港全境亦被納入首次遷界；又記新安縣 1644 至 1661 年間最初登記丁口 6,851，經兩次遷界後只剩 2,172 丁——縣志「先示諭而民不知徙」同事後「再遷」正對應「兩次遷界」。縣志原文只寫年號同月序，本站唔會自行換算成西曆月日；時間軸位置（1662）純為排序。

The Jiaqing 24 (1819) edition of the Xin’an County Gazetteer carries, in juan 13 (“Provincial defence records”), a section on the county’s evacuation and restoration in the Kangxi period; the lower leaf of page 182 of the scan holds the evacuation half (sub-headings “Looking to the sea boundary” and “Evacuated again”). The first sub-section records that in the second month of Kangxi 1 (1662) the provincial authorities toured the coast and fixed the boundary, two-thirds of the county being evacuated, and that in the third month a brigade commander surnamed Cao and a commander-in-chief surnamed Ma led troops to cut the boundary and drive the people more than fifty li inland; it adds that the people did not understand the order at first, that proclamation did not move them, and that when the troops came they abandoned their goods, took wife and children and lived in the open, some dying and some fleeing into Dongguan or Guishan or far away without counting the distance. Under “Evacuated again” it records that the evacuation was to be total, but that the governor-general surnamed Lu, because the people had suffered so soon after the first move, memorialised for exemption and only the east and west roads, twenty-four villages in all, were evacuated; in the third month of the third year the garrison officer and the magistrate drove those twenty-four villages inside the boundary, and thereafter the provincial authorities toured the boundary in each of the four seasons every year. The section ends by noting that the first evacuees hoped to return and could not bear to leave their families, but that as exile wore on and livelihood failed, husbands abandoned wives, fathers parted from sons and brothers from brothers; the flight was past telling, and although the provincial authorities and the county staff tried to settle the evacuees, there were too many people and too little land inside the boundary, and nothing could be done. This content fact was read by hand from the public-domain scan (names and figures are transcribed as printed) and sits alongside the Chronicles archive, which records that between April and May 1662 the Qing government implemented coastal evacuation over a band of 30 to 50 li, with the brigade commander Cao Zhi leading troops to force coastal residents inland, the whole of Hong Kong being included in the first round, and that Xin’an County, having first registered 6,851 ding in 1644–1661, was left with only 2,172 ding after two rounds of evacuation. The gazetteer prints reign years and months only, so this site never converts them into Gregorian days; the timeline position (1662) is an ordering device only.
