After 1127, the Tao clan originally from Jiangxi moved from Yulin in Guangxi to Ngau Tam Mei in Yuen Long in the New Territories during the transition between the two Song dynasties; their descendants later moved to Tuen Mun in the late Yuan and early Ming and opened up Tuen Mun Tai Tsuen there.
