大步海（今大埔海）於1374年10月至11月被明廷禁止採珠；同年5月至10月，東莞知縣詹勛派官兵採得半斤；萬曆年間（1573年至1620年）恢復作業。
Tai Po Hoi (present-day Tai Po Hoi) was closed to pearl gathering by the Ming court from October to November 1374; from May to October of the same year, Dongguan magistrate Zhan Xun sent troops who collected half a catty; operations resumed during the Wanli reign (1573 to 1620).
