In the 3rd year of the Tianqi reign of the Ming dynasty, two large Dutch ships entered through Fat Tong Mun and anchored at Am Ha; Xin'an magistrate Tao Xuexiu led local militia bearing weapons in defence, and the Dutch ships eventually withdrew.
