1863年12月26日，香港政府完成頒布一條防範商標假冒的條例，訂明凡懷欺詐意圖而偽造商標，或就商品作出不實描述者，均須承擔刑事及民事責任。

On 26 December 1863, the Hong Kong Government completed the promulgation of an ordinance against the counterfeiting of trade marks, providing that anyone who forged a trade mark with intent to defraud, or made false descriptions of goods, would bear criminal and civil liability.
