1887年6月1日，出入口管理處獲港府納入船政廳編制之下，負責把鴉片進口資訊呈報九龍關；次年，該處呈上香港歷來第一份鴉片年度出入口統計，成為本地同類紀錄之始。
On 1 June 1887, the Imports and Exports Office was placed by the Hong Kong Government under the Harbour Master's Department, responsible for reporting opium import information to the Kowloon Customs; the following year it submitted Hong Kong's first annual opium import and export statistics, the beginning of such records locally.
