1897年6月21日，香港警隊揭發一宗警務人員參與非法賭博及貪污之案件，涉案者達128人，計有歐籍代理副警察司1名、歐警13名、印警37名、華警76名；最終1人被判監禁，其餘77人則透過辭職、退休、撤職或不再續約等途徑離職。
On 21 June 1897, the Hong Kong Police uncovered a case involving police officers in illegal gambling and corruption, with 128 persons implicated, including 1 European Acting Assistant Superintendent, 13 European police officers, 37 Indian police officers, and 76 Chinese police officers; ultimately, 1 was sentenced to imprisonment, while the remaining 77 left through resignation, retirement, dismissal, or non-renewal of contract.
