1911年10月4日，九廣鐵路實現全線通車，中英雙方分別從廣州與尖沙咀出發，乘搭首班列車抵達深圳羅湖站，並於羅湖橋舉行接軌典禮。
On 4 October 1911, the Kowloon-Canton Railway was fully opened, with the Chinese and British sides departing from Guangzhou and Tsim Sha Tsui respectively, arriving at Luohu Station in Shenzhen on the first trains, and holding a track-linking ceremony at the Luohu Bridge.

1911年10月18日，武昌起義發生後僅過八日，香港大清銀行、交通銀行與招商局因紀念孔聖誕而升起黃龍旗，卻遭民眾投擲石塊襲擊，最終須將旗幟降下，風波才得以終止。
On 18 October 1911, just eight days after the Wuchang Uprising, the Hong Kong branches of the Daqing Bank, Bank of Communications and China Merchants Steam Navigation Company raised the Yellow Dragon Flag to commemorate Confucius's birthday, but were attacked with stones by the public and had to lower the flags before the incident ended.

The census reference date was 20 May 1911, and the Hong Kong Government announced the results on 27 October of the same year: 456,739 residents in the whole territory, of whom 444,664 were Chinese and 12,075 non-Chinese.

1911年10月28日，位於中環的聖保羅堂落成並開始使用，其建造計劃由華人建築師林護與聖公會史超域牧師合力籌辦。
On 28 October 1911, St Paul's Church in Central was completed and opened, with its construction planned jointly by Chinese architect Lam Wu and Anglican Reverend Stewart.
