On 21 December 1911, Sun Yat-sen arrived in Hong Kong aboard the British steamer SS Dewa, stayed for eight hours, and then left for Shanghai to prepare for the Republic of China; during his stay, he met separately with Miyazaki Toten, Hu Hanmin, Chen Shaobai, and Liao Zhongkai.
