On 1 August 1925, the government established the post of School Medical Officer for the first time, responsible for arranging regular medical examinations and providing medical services for students of government and subsidised schools.

On 21 August 1925, Tung Wah Hospital, the Hong Kong Chinese Chamber of Commerce and the Twenty-Four Guilds Chamber of Commerce jointly sent telegrams in the name of the three organisations to various major cities in China and overseas Chinese organisations, requesting the suspension of remittance support to workers who had left Hong Kong for Canton to join the strike.
