1937年1月，施戈斐侶於大嶼山東灣遺址展開為期兩個月的田野發掘，發現商時期墓葬及人骨；其間安特生來港參與，安特生為國際知名考古學家。

In January 1937, Schofield began a two-month field excavation at the Tung Wan site on Lantau Island, discovering Shang-period tombs and human bones; Andersson, an internationally renowned archaeologist, came to Hong Kong to take part.

美北長老會選址西營盤般鹹道，於1937年1月1日開辦小學部，該校名為廣州培英中學香港分校，並在同一年秋季增設初中部。

The Presbyterian Church in the United States of America chose a site on Bonham Road in Sai Ying Pun and opened a primary school section on 1 January 1937 under the name Pui Ying Middle School (Hong Kong Branch) of Guangzhou, adding a junior secondary section in the autumn of the same year.

1937年1月30日，銀禧水塘的主壩完工，壩身高度超過86米。

On 30 January 1937, the main dam of the Jubilee Reservoir was completed, with a height of over 86 metres.
