一九三八年八月，一場名為「八一三」的救國獻金行動，發起者為九龍深水埗的流動攤販，其後參與範圍不斷擴展，最後籌得款項達一百萬元之多。

In August 1938, a national salvation donation campaign called "813" was initiated by mobile hawkers in Sham Shui Po, Kowloon, and its participation steadily expanded, eventually raising as much as one million dollars.
