1941年8月11日，香港政府設立一個委員會，並委任副按察司祁樂壽為負責人，針對防空署在購入建築材料與軍需品時，是否涉及貪污行為展開調查。

On 11 August 1941, the Hong Kong Government set up a committee headed by Puisne Judge C. G. Alves to investigate whether the Air Raid Precautions Department had been involved in corruption in the purchase of building materials and military supplies.

一九四一年八月十三日，香港僑胞於普慶戲院舉辦「八一三」事變四週年紀念大會，各界人士到場參加獻金與義賣活動。

On 13 August 1941, Hong Kong overseas Chinese held a commemorative rally at the Po Hing Theatre for the fourth anniversary of the 'August 13' Incident, with people from all walks of life attending to donate money and take part in charity sales.
