In April 1944, the Japanese military deployed over 2,600 troops, more than 40 warships and gunboats, and 4 aircraft to launch a clearance operation against the Hong Kong-Kowloon Brigade's Lantau Island Squadron base, lasting 21 days, but ultimately failed to find the guerrillas.

同一時期，港九大隊副大隊長魯風在大嶼山寶蓮禪寺養病，得到住持筏可收留保護；日軍雖然對筏可施以酷刑逼供，他始終沒有透露半點消息。
During the same period, Luk Fung, deputy commander of the Hong Kong-Kowloon Brigade, was recuperating at Po Lin Monastery on Lantau Island and was sheltered and protected by abbot Fat Ho; although the Japanese military tortured Fat Ho to extract information, he never revealed anything.

1944年4月15日，日佔政府將食米配給範圍縮減為只涵蓋與日本軍政合作的人士及其親屬，同年12月進一步收窄，僅餘合作者本人可獲配給。
On 15 April 1944, the Japanese occupation government reduced the rice rationing scope to cover only those cooperating with the Japanese military administration and their relatives, and in December of the same year further narrowed it so that only the collaborators themselves received rations.

港九大隊市區中隊於1944年4月21日把位於九龍窩打老道四號的鐵路橋炸毀。
On 21 April 1944, the Hong Kong-Kowloon Brigade's Urban Squadron blew up the railway bridge at 4 Waterloo Road in Kowloon.
