其後，日本憲兵隊對西貢大藍湖、界鹹、蠔涌、大洞及南圍等多條村落展開大規模搜索，大量村民遭拘捕，部分人更因遭受酷刑而喪命。
Subsequently, the Japanese military police launched large-scale searches of villages including Tai Lam Wu, Kai Ham, Ho Chung, Tai Tung and Nam Wai in Sai Kung, arresting many villagers, some of whom died from torture.

1944年9月8日，日軍沙頭角憲兵部指控蓮麻坑村約60名村民協助遊擊隊盜取礦山炸藥，遂將他們拘捕，村民葉天送與礦工葉生最終因受酷刑致死。
On 8 September 1944, the Japanese military police in Sha Tau Kok accused about 60 villagers of Lin Ma Hang Village of assisting guerrillas in stealing explosives from the mine, and arrested them; villagers Yip Tin-sung and miner Yip Sang eventually died from torture.
