On 10 February 1952, the Commissioner of the Hong Kong St. John Ambulance Brigade, Yat To Lun, presided over the unveiling ceremony of the war memorial at Wong Nai Chung Gap, at which he inspected members of the brigade and paid tribute to 55 members who died in the Second World War.

On 29 February 1952, the Hong Kong Government amended the Export Control (Specific Articles) Order 1951, increasing the controlled articles from the original 13 categories by another seven, and no person could import or export them without approval.
