1966年9月1日，石英報時系統接替同步標準擺鐘，天文台以擺鐘授時成為歷史。
On 1 September 1961, the quartz time-signal system replaced the synchronous standard pendulum clock, ending the Observatory's time-signalling by pendulum clock.
