0963 · 大步海 · 日期僅記到年份
公元963年，南漢末代君主劉鋹於大步海成立媚川都，編制士兵二千名，專門從事珍珠採集，此乃香港地域採珠活動最早的文獻記錄；潛水採珠之人以石頭繫於腳部，深入海底可達五百尺，因而喪命者為數不少。
In 963 AD, Liu Chang, the last ruler of Southern Han, established Meichuan Du at Dabu Sea with a strength of 2,000 soldiers dedicated to pearl gathering, the earliest documentary record of pearl diving in the Hong Kong region; divers tied stones to their feet and descended as deep as 500 feet, and many lost their lives.
