972年6月23日，宋廷認為採珠活動對國家及百姓造成危害，遂頒令取締，撤銷媚川都，並把年輕力壯者收編至靜江軍，而年老體弱者則予以遣散；然而事隔不久，採珠之事又再獲準恢復。
On 23 June 972, the Song court, considering pearl gathering harmful to the state and the people, ordered its prohibition, abolished Meichuan Du, conscripted the able-bodied into the Jingjiang Army, and discharged the old and weak; not long afterwards, however, pearl gathering was permitted to resume.
