Background
'Sik Joeng Zi Go' ('Song of the Setting Sun') is sung by Anita Mui, with lyrics by Chan Siu-kei and arrangement by Chiu Tsang-hei. It appears on her 1989 Capital Artists album 'In Brasil' and serves as the theme song of the film 'A Better Tomorrow III'. Its original is likewise Masahiko Kondo's 1989 Japanese single 'Yūyake no Uta'. Because Mui's lyrics had to be revised for the film, her version finished later and was plugged slightly after Priscilla Chan's 'Cin Cin Kyut Go', which used the same melody. Mui's version went on to win the 'Gold Song Gold Award' at the 1989 Jade Solid Gold Awards, while Chan's won the Ultimate Song Chart 'My Favourite Song' award, a rivalry that became a classic Hong Kong pop story. The same original also produced Cantonese versions such as Blue Jeans' 'Mou Liu Si Hau'.
