Ho Chung-chung was a central figure in the post-war rebuilding of True Light education in Hong Kong. The school history of True Light Middle School of Hong Kong records that the school began in 1935, when Dr Hoh Yam-tong founded a primary school and kindergarten on Caine Road with 35 pupils. It was suspended during the Japanese invasion in 1941 and reopened in 1946 with 411 pupils, when Ho was appointed principal of the primary and kindergarten sections. A junior secondary section was added in 1947 and its first pupils graduated in 1949; the school applied for land for a secondary section that year and was granted the Tai Hang Road site in 1950. The new campus was completed and the primary and secondary schools moved there in 1951, a second primary school and kindergarten were built in 1956, and the expansion of the secondary section was completed in 1960. The history page of the primary section calls her the founding principal of True Light on Tai Hang Road. During her tenure the school grew from its post-war reopening into a through-train system embracing kindergarten, primary and secondary education, and in 1972 it completed the Centennial Hall and swimming pool to mark the school's centenary. She retired in 1974 after 28 years in charge. The school history records that after her retirement True Light unveiled a bronze statue of her and published two commemorative volumes, a collection of her writings and a tribute volume; the school's list of principals places her tenure at 1946 to 1974.
