Angela Chiu Kwan Hung is a Hong Kong early childhood educator who has worked on kindergarten curricula and teacher development. According to Creative Kindergarten, its curriculum was designed by Dr Chiu Kwan-hung on the basis of Howard Gardner's theory of multiple intelligences, combined with years of practice, with the school preparing its own teaching content, materials and methods. The kindergarten describes its aims as respecting children, nurturing love, stimulating potential and inspiring thinking, and emphasises learning through play and cooperation with parents. It describes a 'SMART' approach covering stimulation, positive messages, art and creativity, reading and parent-child time, and says its teaching and support team numbers about 400, all of whom have completed master's degrees, bachelor's degrees or certificates in early childhood education. In 1995 Dr Chan Lai-ling of the Chan's education organisation founded Chan's Creative School and invited Chiu Kwan-hung to be its first supervisor. The school's founding-supervisor page reproduces her message of 21 July 2022 on stepping down: she recalled that the school began with three Primary One classes on the third floor of its old premises and that in 1998 the school council expanded the site and built a new campus able to accommodate six forms and 24 classes. She stressed teaching by example and guiding with kindness, and paid tribute to its more than 50 teachers. She resigned as supervisor because of her age, and Wong Luk Wing-yan succeeded her from the 2022–23 school year. Her approach is also reflected in Creative Kindergarten's curriculum, which organises learning around the eight domains of multiple intelligences.
