獨木舟教練教划艇技術、覆艇處理同救援程序，並規劃海上路線、留意風浪水流。香港嘅獨木舟教練資歷由中國香港獨木舟總會分級簽發，要逐級考取證書，並要有救生同急救資歷。

There is no single statutory licence here: coaching credentials come from individual sports associations (swimming, climbing, canoeing, dragon boat and so on), while LCSD venue posts and lifeguards have their own certificate requirements. Full-time athletes normally go through the Sports Institute or association elite system; recreation instructors mostly work freelance or part-time.

教練要為學員做安全簡介、檢查裝備同救生衣，然後教基本划舟技術、覆艇後嘅處理同救援方法；帶旅程時要規劃路線、判讀天氣同水流，並喺途中照顧不同程度嘅學員。課後仲要檢視裝備同記錄進度，部分教練會兼做裁判或協助總會培訓。工作多數喺週末同假期，旺季相當繁忙。帶隊前亦要確認參加者嘅資歷同人手比例。
教練證書由中國香港獨木舟總會分級簽發，按艇種分類，並由一級逐級升至二級、三級。以二級競賽教練課程為例，要求包括：年滿二十一歲嘅總會會員、持一級競賽教練證書、持高級競賽員證書、持有效獨木舟救生員同急救證書、具教授初級課程嘅經驗、持海事處遊樂船隻操作人合格證明，以及冇紀律同性罪行相關紀錄。
總會每年按報名人數開辦唔同等級嘅課程，例如三級競賽、三級龍舟（傳統艇）同二級競賽教練課程，並非長期收生；部分課程仲會因報名人數不足而未能開辦。教練出路包括受僱於康文署水上活動中心、私人會所、學校或度假營，亦可自僱接辦訓練班。收入由僱主或按班別收費決定。部分較高級嘅課程仲有年齡同裁判資歷嘅附加要求。

Instructors give a safety briefing, check equipment and life jackets, then teach basic paddling, capsize recovery and rescue methods; on journeys they plan the route, read the weather and current, and look after paddlers of different abilities. After class they inspect kit and record progress, and some also act as officials or help with Union training. Most work is at weekends and on holidays, and peak season is busy. Before a journey, an instructor also checks participants' qualifications and the required staff-to-paddler ratio.
Coaching certificates are graded and issued by the Hong Kong China Canoe Union, divided by craft type, and progress from Level 1 upwards through Levels 2 and 3. The Level 2 racing coach course, for example, requires a Union member aged 21 or above, a Level 1 racing coach certificate, a senior competitor certificate, valid canoe life-saving and first-aid certificates, experience teaching a junior course, a Marine Department pleasure-vessel operator certificate, and no disciplinary or sexual-offence-related records. The Level 3 sea canoe course raises the minimum age to 25 and requires a Level 2 sea canoe coach certificate.
The Union runs courses at different levels each year depending on enrolment — for example Level 3 racing, Level 3 dragon boat (traditional) and Level 2 racing coach courses — so intake is not continuous, and some courses may not open if there are too few applicants. Instructors may work at LCSD water sports centres, private clubs, schools or holiday camps, or freelance on training courses. Pay is set by the employer or per class. Some higher-level courses set extra age and officiating-qualification conditions.

健身教練喺健身中心或私人工作室指導客人訓練；冇法定牌照，但市場重視認可教練證書、急救訓練同保險安排。
攀岩教練教授攀爬技巧與安全程序，負責檢查裝備、確保保護、設計路線及帶領戶外活動。香港沒有統一的法定攀岩教練牌照，專業資格主要由中國香港攀山及攀登總會以分級教練計劃簽發。
山藝教練同行山領隊帶隊行山，要事前規劃路線、評估天氣、控制行進速度同休息點，並處理受傷同迷路等突發情況；香港由中國香港攀山及攀登總會推行有系統嘅山藝證書同教練培訓，逐級考取。
救生員喺公眾泳池或泳灘值勤，監察泳客安全、執行水上救援同急救、檢查救生器材同解釋泳池規則；康文署救生員須持有香港拯溺總會嘅泳池或沙灘救生章及有效急救證書，並通過技能測試。
