Day-to-day work
A day usually starts with an early class or personal session, with intensity and exercises adjusted to the client's goals; between sessions come records, diet and rest guidance and keeping the floor tidy and equipment safe. New Year brings a surge of new clients, and renewals and payments follow company procedures.
Entry and requirements
There is no statutory licence: entry relies on recognised trainer certification and a first aid certificate, and some employers ask for sports science or physical education study. Self-employed trainers arrange their own cover and must not give medical advice on injuries or illness, referring clients to a doctor or physiotherapist where needed.
Income and development
Income is usually per session, hourly or a base plus commission with no statutory scale; freelance trainers see income move with client numbers and deduct venue or revenue-share costs, so this site prints no estimate. The route runs trainee or assistant, fitness trainer, senior trainer or group supervisor, then studio owner or freelance brand, with moves into sports science, rehabilitation training or trainer education.
