English
Day-to-day work
Shop work is customer-led: understanding whether a purchase is a gift or for the buyer, the budget and style preference, then presenting items accordingly; after a sale come resizing, engraving or repairs, with care and warranty terms recorded. Closing involves counting valuables and locking showcases.
Entry and product knowledge
Secondary education or above is usual, with service attitude and language skills, English or Putonghua, valued highly; product knowledge on fineness, gemstones and certificates comes from company training or trade courses. Staff must describe certificates and after-sales terms accurately and must not exaggerate value retention or investment returns.
Pay and progression
Pay is usually a base plus commission or bonus with no statutory scale; commission rates and targets vary by company, and peak-season sales weigh heavily, so this site prints no estimate. The route runs jewellery sales associate, senior associate, shop supervisor, then store or area manager, with moves into buying, gemmology or brand training.
