English
Day-to-day work
Supervisors balance numbers and people: reading sales and stock reports in the morning, arranging replenishment and display changes, handling complaints and stock-outs during trade, and reconciling takings and writing the roster at close, while tracking targets and staffing around month end and promotions.
Entry and requirements
Secondary 5 or above with several years in retail is usual, along with basic computer skills and English or Putonghua; some employers ask for internal or external management training. Experience with display, stock systems or point-of-sale software helps.
Pay and progression
Pay is usually a base plus store commission or bonus with no statutory scale; target bonuses and overtime arrangements vary by company, so this site prints no estimate. The route runs senior sales associate, supervisor, store manager, then area supervisor or retail operations manager, with moves into buying, visual merchandising or training.
