After 1751 (after the 16th year of the Qianlong reign of the Qing dynasty), the Tang clan of Ha Tsuen in Yuen Long founded Ha Tsuen Market, which later developed into Ha Tsuen Shi.

In the 16th year of the Qianlong reign of the Qing dynasty, i.e. 1751, the Liu clan of Sheung Shui built the Liu Man Shek Tong ancestral hall in memory of their ancestor Liu Kong, who held high office and received a stipend of ten thousand piculs during the Northern Song dynasty, and his four sons.
