1865年6月30日，教育諮詢委員會由新設的教育司署取代，該署自此承擔管理香港教育工作的職責。

On 30 June 1865, the Board of Education was replaced by the newly established Education Department, which thenceforth assumed responsibility for administering education in Hong Kong.
