A total solar eclipse occurred on 21 September 1922, and the Hong Kong Observatory took part in an international collaborative project coordinated by the Carnegie Institution of Washington to study the eclipse's effects on geomagnetism.

During the total solar eclipse of 21 September 1922, the Hong Kong Observatory monitored geomagnetic fluctuations minute by minute and afterwards provided these records to Bauer for reference.

1922年9月29日，香港政府實施一條兒童工業僱傭條例，該條例授予總督會同行政局制定規例的權限，用以界定危險行業的範圍、規定受僱兒童的最低年齡，並訂明僱主應負的責任。
On 29 September 1922, the Hong Kong Government implemented an ordinance on the employment of children in industry, which empowered the Governor in Council to make regulations defining dangerous trades, setting the minimum age for employed children and prescribing employers' responsibilities.
