On 26 May 1925, Governor Stubbs presided over a handover ceremony returning a pair of linked iron gates to the Tang clan of Kat Hing Wai; the gates had been removed from Kat Hing Wai in Kam Tin by British troops as war trophies during the resistance by New Territories villagers against the British in 1899.
