1932年12月14日，香港大學馮平山圖書館正式開幕。該館由紳商馮平山出資15萬元成立，收藏重點為中國典籍，屬香港大專院校首例。
On 14 December 1932, the Fung Ping Shan Library of the University of Hong Kong officially opened; it was established with $150,000 funded by the merchant Fung Ping Shan, focused on Chinese classics, and was the first of its kind among Hong Kong tertiary institutions.
