香港淪陷於日軍手中時，當地民眾須在1942年6月30日限期前，向憲兵隊遞交居留許可申請；唯有獲審批通過，繼續留在香港居住方屬合法。
When Hong Kong fell to the Japanese army, local people had to submit residence permit applications to the Kempeitai by the deadline of 30 June 1942; only with approval was continued residence in Hong Kong lawful.

日佔政府於1942年6月5日以香督令第22號頒布《映畫演劇檢閱規則》，規定電影與戲劇的公開放映及演出，事前須送交總督報導部審查，獲批後方可上映或表演。
On 5 June 1942, the Japanese occupation government promulgated the Film and Drama Censorship Rules by Governor's Order No. 22, requiring films and dramas to be submitted to the Governor's Information Department for censorship before public screening or performance, and only after approval could they be shown or performed.

On 11 June 1942, the Japanese occupation authorities announced to the public a new tropical cyclone warning signal system, comprising typhoon signals No. 1 to No. 10, with supplementary signals.
