一九四八年六月八日，中環聖約翰座堂舉行了一項嶺南書畫名家作品展，展出高劍父、趙少昂、楊善深、關山月及黎葛民的畫作，總數逾一百幅。

On 8 June 1948, an exhibition of works by Lingnan painting and calligraphy masters was held at St John's Cathedral in Central, displaying over 100 works by Gao Jianfu, Zhao Shao'ang, Yang Shanshen, Guan Shanyue, and Li Gemin.

1948年6月12日，港府向香港有線電廣播公司批出牌照，準許其開設電台麗的呼聲，這是當局首度就廣播電台發出的同類許可。

On 12 June 1948, the Hong Kong government granted a licence to Hong Kong Cable Radio Company to operate the radio station Rediffusion, the first such permit issued by the authorities for a broadcasting station.
