1949年6月1日，香港政府鑑於國共內戰形勢蔓延至長江以南地區，遂於新界邊境推行歷時三個月的戒嚴措施。
On 1 June 1949, in view of the Chinese Civil War spreading to areas south of the Yangtze River, the Hong Kong government imposed a three-month martial law measure along the New Territories border.

1949年6月10日，教育司署作出決定，針對香港仔與長洲兩間漁民子弟學校，重組其校董會，校長及校董會理事長均由該署指派，目的在於提升漁民子弟的教育水平，同時紓緩漁民的經濟壓力。
On 10 June 1949, the Education Department decided to reorganize the school management committees of two fishermen's children schools in Aberdeen and Cheung Chau, with the principal and chairman of the school management committee appointed by the department, aiming to raise the educational level of fishermen's children and alleviate the economic pressure on fishermen.

1949年6月22日，立法局非官守議員首次就楊慕琦計劃進行辯論，並表決通過蘭代爾議員於4月27日提出的議案，議決不成立市議會，改以增設立法局非官守議席作為替代安排。
On 22 June 1949, unofficial members of the Legislative Council debated the Young Plan for the first time and voted to pass the motion proposed by Member Landale on 27 April, resolving not to establish a municipal council and instead to increase the number of unofficial seats in the Legislative Council as an alternative arrangement.
