On 11 April 1955, the Kashmir Princess incident killed many people, including Chinese and Vietnamese diplomats who had been due to attend the Bandung Asian-African Conference; Wong Chok-mui, then head of the Xinhua News Agency Hong Kong Branch, was also among the victims.

1955年4月11日，印度航空一架名為「克什米爾公主號」的包機由香港出發，原定飛往印尼雅加達，航程中發生爆炸並墜毀，導致機上乘客與機組人員共16人喪生，另有3名機組人員倖存。
On 11 April 1955, an Air India charter flight named 'Kashmir Princess' departed from Hong Kong for Jakarta, Indonesia, but exploded and crashed en route, killing 16 passengers and crew members, with 3 crew members surviving.

On 12 April 1955, a male juvenile rorqual less than two months old was found at Ming Sang Pier in Sheung Wan and was killed by police and fishermen after becoming stranded.
