In October 1963, Chung Chi, New Asia and United Colleges merged, and The Chinese University of Hong Kong was thereby established.

1963年10月1日，聯合國香港協會轄下索償委員會恢復受理二戰期間日軍令香港市民蒙受損失的索償登記，同月31日為截止日。

On 1 October 1963, the Claims Committee under the United Nations Association of Hong Kong resumed registration of claims for losses suffered by Hong Kong residents at the hands of Japanese troops during the Second World War, with 31 October of the same month as the deadline.

1963-10-17 · 香港大會堂

1963年10月17日，香港中文大學成立典禮選址香港大會堂；該校由新亞、崇基、聯合三所書院合組。同年11月，李卓敏獲港府委任為首任校長。

On 17 October 1963, the inauguration ceremony of The Chinese University of Hong Kong was held at Hong Kong City Hall; the university was formed by the merger of New Asia College, Chung Chi College and United College, and in November of the same year Li Choh-ming was appointed by the Hong Kong Government as its first Vice-Chancellor.
