1965年8月9日，醫務衞生署展開覆蓋全港的白喉防疫計劃，替兒童接種疫苗。

On 9 August 1965, the Medical and Health Department launched a territory-wide diphtheria vaccination programme to inoculate children.

1971年9月，慈雲山新區內全部63座大廈落成，該區早於1965年8月12日已對外開放，並因此成為當時香港面積最大的徙置區。

In September 1971, all 63 blocks in the Tsz Wan Shan New Area were completed; the area had opened on 12 August 1965 and thus became the largest resettlement area in Hong Kong at the time.

1965年8月16日，市政局在九龍設立首間公共圖書館並進行啟用典禮，該館由8月17日開始向市民開放。

On 16 August 1965, the Urban Council established the first public library in Kowloon and held its opening ceremony; the library opened to the public from 17 August.

1965年8月24日，一架美軍運輸機於九龍灣海域失事墜毀，造成59人死亡，並有12人獲救生還。

On 24 August 1965, a US military transport aircraft crashed into the sea at Kowloon Bay, killing 59 people and leaving 12 survivors.
